Building Materials Exhibition : WACL Leads In Tiles Production, Highest Employer Of Kogi Indigenes

Lokoja – Stakeholders at the just concluded Built Environment and Building Materials Exhibition have declared the West African Ceramic Limited (WACL) as the leading manufacturer of made in Nigeria tiles

The ceramic company located in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State was also adjudged as the highest employer of indigenes of the state.

The Stakeholders made the declaration during the grand finale of the Building Exhibition held recently in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.

Arc. Onyiuke Amaka, representing the Managing Director of WACL, Bhaskar Rao, at the event, disclosed that the Company, makers of Royal tiles, royal marbles and natural granites has become a household name in Kogi state, nationally and internationally owing to the reliability of its products.

Amaka also revealed that the West African Ceramic Company since its establishment, remained the highest employer of Kogi indigenes saying that “over twenty thousand of its employees comes from Kogi state”

According to her, aside offering employment opportunities to Kogi people, the company is equally providing Corporate Social Responsibilities to the host communities spanning through : award of scholarships, medical outreaches, succour to flood victims and other assistances to communities across the state.

The Convener of the Kogi Built Environment and Building Materials Exhibition, Engineer Oladipo Bayode recalled that the WACL through its Managing Director, Bhaskar Rao has been partnering with this event since the Inaugural edition in 2017

Bayode called for the co-operation of the host community and urged the people to continue to assist in the provision of logistic support for the smooth operation of the company in Kogi state

He explained that when Made in Nigeria products are being patronised locally and exported to international market, it will help in shoring up the Nigeria’s dwindling economy.
