A Deputy Registrar with Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Dr Solomon Oluwashola Afolabi suddenly died on Tuesday while participating in an aptitude test to select a new Registrar for the university.
Afolabi was writing the test along with other two qualified candidates for the vacant position when he made a strange shout and then slumped.
The two other candidates writing the aptitude test as at the time of the incident were Dr Babatola J. E. T. and Mrs Adeojo R.T.B.
Afolabi was said to have been immediately rushed to the institution’s health centre where doctors on duty confirmed him dead.
His corpse was thereafter deposited in a morgue at Ado Ekiti.
Appointment of Registrar is done by the Governing Council and Chairman headed by the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of council.
The university was yet to issue a formal statement as at the time of this report.
