Armed Forces Remembrance Day :  Ododo Pledges Free Healthcare For Families Of Fallen Heroes

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has promised to provide free health care for wives and children of deceased soldiers living in the state by enrolling them into the Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme.

Ododo made the promise on Wednesday in Lokoja while speaking at the grand finale of this year’s celebration of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The governor expressed his administration’s commitment to supporting the military and families of fallen heroes.

He also reiterated his commitment in ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens and residents of the state.

“As we honour our Galant Men who protected the Sovereignty of Nigeria, who gave their lives off so that we can have our peace in the land of the living.

“We remember you and we pray that the Almighty Allah forgives your shortcomings.

“We celebrate them for what they stood for, they stood for peace, unity and hope.

“I pledge my continued support to the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and we stand to support the wives and children of our Fallen Heroes in the provision of Free Healthcare through the Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme, ” he said.

He emphasized that the security and logistical support of the military remain a top priority, underscoring the importance of collaboration between the government and the armed forces to maintain peace and stability in the Country.

The governor commended the exceptional quality of President Bola Tinubu in prioritising the Peace and Unity of our the nation.

He then urged Nigerians to unite in their collective resolve in order to sustain the peace gained by the current administration in the country.

Ododo later performed the laying of wreaths at the World War I and II Cenotaph in Lokoja.

The ceremony is organised annually in remembrance of the sacrifices of Nigeria’s fallen heroes who lost their lives in various military conflicts, including World War I and II, the Nigerian Civil War, and peacekeeping operations
