One Thousand, Five Hundred and Ninety one (1,591) casual workers in all the 33 local government areas of Oyo State have been converted to permanent staff.
The state Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters, Ademola Ojo announced this in Ibadan on Friday.
Ojo said the letters of appointment of all affected staff are ready for collection.
He explained that the conversion exercise was sequel to an approval earlier granted by Governor Seyi Makinde,to that effect in October, 2024.
The Commissioner said the conversion was to bridge the gap in the workforce at the local government level.
Ojo said the conversion exercise followed the due process.
He advised the beneficiaries to collect their appointment letters at the Local Government Service Commission from Monday, 3rd February to Thursday, 6th February 2025, between the time of 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily.
Ojo said collection of appointment letters by proxy will not be allowed. (vitalnewsngr.com)
