Osun NUJ Mourns As NAWOJ Vice Chairman, Taiwo Kekere-Ekun Dies

The Osun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has announced the death of one of its members, Taiwo Kekere-Ekun.

The Secretary of the union, Adeyemi Aboderin, said the female journalist died in the early hours of Monday after a brief illness.

Until her death, she was a staff of Fresh FM, Osogbo and deputy Chairperson, National Association of Women’s Journalists (NAWOJ), Osun State chapter.

The NUJ has declared a three – day mourning in  honour of her dedication and selfless service to the union.

“The union wishes to identify with the immediate families, colleagues and friends left behind by the deceased,” Aboderin said in the statement.

Also, the management and staff of Fresh FM Osogbo extended their heartfelt condolences to Taiwo’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

They said they took comfort in the enduring memories of her kindness, hard work, and the joy she brought to countless lives.

“It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that Fresh FM Osogbo announces the untimely passing of one of our esteemed staff members after a brief illness.

“Taiwo Kekere-Ekun, passed away today, Monday June 24th, 2024.

“She left behind a legacy of dedication, professionalism, and camaraderie that will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working with her.

“We find solace in the lasting memories of her kindness, hard work, and the joy;she brought to mankind,” the statement said.  (vitalnewsngr.com)
