A former Vice President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr Mathias Omale is dead.
Omale, the former Vice President of Zone D, NUJ, died in Lokoja on Monday, September 16, 2024 after a brief illness.
Omale, worked for the Kogi State Broadcasting Service where he retired as a Deputy Director, News, in 2020.
In its reaction, the Kogi State Council of the NUJ has described the death of the veteran journalist, Comrade Mathias Omale as an unfortunate and great loss to the profession.
A statement signed by the Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Seidu Ademu Haruna and Secretary, Comrade Olusegun Ayindero-Oyenibi noted that Comrade Mathias Omale has contributed in no great measure to the successes achieved in the union in the state while in active service.
According to the statement, the one-time Vice President of Zone D would be missed for his meaningful impact at the National and State Levels fostering unity, peace and love among members.
The statement which described death as the end of all mortals, condole with the immediate family, colleagues and friends of the deceased and prayed God to grant all , the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of Comrade Mathias Omale as well as grant his soul rest in eternity. (vitalnewsngr.com)
