Sokoto – Alhaji Murtala Dan-Iya, the Treasurer of the Sokoto State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dumped the ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Dan – Iya was also the
Sokoto North Local Government campaign coordinator for Atiku/Okowa campaign council cited lack of internal democracy for his action.
Dan-Iya personally signed the resignation letter and copied it to newsmen in Sokoto on Friday.
The latter was addressed to the PDP Chairman, Magajin Gari B Ward of Sokoto North Local Government Area of the state.
The former treasurer said he resigned his membership of PDP due to irreconcilable differences in the party.
“ The differences especially the way and manner include the way into party is carrying out its duties towards the good people of Sokoto State,” he said.
Reacting, the state Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Hassan Sahabi Sanyinnawal, denied receiving such letter.
“As a party, we didn’t receive any letter or information from him. We are just hearing it as a rumour.
“Officially as a party, we didn’t receive any letter from him, we didn’t receive any information from him,” he said. (vitalnewsngr.com)
