Lafia – 43 year -old man,
Dan’asabe Eddo, a native of Kubasha village in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State has been arrested for allegedly raping an 80 year -old woman in Nasarawa State.
Eddo who lives in Kundami village, Garaku, in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, allegedly went into the residence of the 80-year-old woman and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
The woman lives alone in the same village as the suspect.
The case was reported to the police and operatives attached to the Garaku division who swung into action and arrested the suspect.
When interrogated, Eddo confessed to committing the crime and blamed it on the handiwork of the devil.
The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Rahman Nansel, who confirmed the case and arrest of the suspect.
He stated that the state Commissioner of Police, Adesina Soyemi, has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia for further investigations.
