Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has ordered the state Ministry of Works to commence immediate rehabilitation of the Ogori-Ageva road in the Central Senatorial District area.
Bello gave the order in Lokoja on Monday while welcoming members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogori – Magongo Local Government who recently defected to the All Ptogressives Congress (APC) and other stakeholders from the area.
Bello expressed his gratitude to the people of Ogori-Magongo for their support for his administration.
He said one of his achievements during his first term in office was the electrification of Ogori which he believed has transformed the socio-economic activities of the area.
The governor praised Honorable Goke Oparison, the chairman of Ogori – Magongo Local Government for his commendable achievements, particularly in the area of security.
Bello assured the people that his administration would continue to work diligently until the end of his tenure, promising that Ogori-Magongo will continue to enjoy his attention.
He extended a warm welcome to those who have joined the APC, assuring them of equal opportunities alongside the existing party members.
The governor urged them to be very active and make their presence felt in the APC by lending their support to the ongoing efforts to ensure the victory of the party and its candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo in the coming governorship election.
A former Chairman of Ogori-Magongo Local Government, Honorable Gabriel Daudu, who formally declared his intention to join the APC and support Honorable Ododo Ahmed Usman in the November 11 governorship election, lauded Governor Yahaya Bello for his exemplary leadership and the good governance.
Daudu, who was also a former member of the state house of assembly commended Bello for his inclusive and fair treatment of all parts of the state.
Daudu said he and other defectors from the PDP opted for the APC, believing that their people will benefit more by supporting the APC governorship candidate in the upcoming November 11 election.
Among the defectors are Ogori/Magongo PDP Party Chairman , Hon. Emmanuel Olufade, Former PDP LG Secretary Ogori/Magongo , Hon. David Shado, Ogori/Magongo LGA PDP Chieftain – Hon.
