Kogi SUBEB Flags Off Distribution Of Second Phase Of COVID-19 Items

Lokoja – The Chairman of Kogi State Universal Basic Education Board ( SUBEB), Comrade Suleiman Ndalayi Abdulahi has flagged off the second phase of the distribution of Covid -19 items in the state.

Speaking at the event in Lokoja on Wednesday, Abdullahi said the distribution of the items was in continuation of efforts to protect the pupils against all pandemics.

He commended the education-friendly Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for his passion to protect the state against all pandemics and to totally phase out all the negative economic effects of Covid- 19.

He said the need to continue the distribution of the items has become imperative if the state wants to fully recover from the negative effects of the outbreak of the virus.

The Chairman implored all Education Secretaries in the state to ensure judicious distribution of the items to all schools in their local governments area.

According to him, this will justify the purpose for which the items were procured.

He also urged pupils to improve upon their personal hygiene through regular use of sanitary items so as to protect themselves against all forms of viruses.

In a related development, three motorcycles were distributed to Heads of Sections of Quality Assurance Depts of Ogori Magongo, Mopa- Muro and Bassa Local Government Education Authority Areas for easy movement and to enhance quick discharge of their statutory assignments in their various local government areas.

In his own remarks, Director, Administration and Supply of the Board, Mallam Seidu Usman recalled the negative socio-economic effects of Corona virus on the populace and commended the Executive Chairman for his initiative at making those items available for the use of the pupils.

Responding on behalf of the Education Secretaries, Hon Abdulmalik Kashim who described the Executive Chairman as a leader that has the welfare of his staff at heart, commended the giant by the SUBEB, promising to distribute the items judiciously.

Items distributed are hand sanitizers, nose masks, buckets and tissue papers among others. (vitalnewsngr.com)
