The Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Kwara State Chapter, Stephen Adeola Awoyale, has urged youths in the country to embrace entrepreneurship while maintaining their faith in God’s timing.
He made this appeal during the 2024 YOWICAN Annual Youth Convention themed Anagkazo 3.0, held at the UMCATC in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Awoyale emphasized the importance of seizing opportunities for self-reliance, saying the “convention is not just another meeting; it is a sacred appointment where God Himself will meet with us, shape our destinies, and ignite the fires of transformation in our lives.”
He highlighted the success of YOWICAN’s empowerment program, which he said has supported young entrepreneurs through training, resources, and financial aid.
The Chairman said these were aimed at tackling unemployment and creating a better society.
“Our goal is simple but powerful—to empower youths, reduce unemployment, and create a better society.
“We believe that by doing this, we are shaping the future of Nigeria,” Awoyale added.
He further outlined YOWICAN’s vision, which includes setting up a dedicated YOWICAN House, promoting digital literacy, and supporting agricultural ventures.
Awoyale then called on philanthropists, governments, and corporate organizations to support these youth development initiatives.
Other speakers at the event included Special Apostle Pastor M.A. Popoola, who underscored the role of CAN in fostering Christian unity and ensuring peaceful coexistence with other faiths.
Pastor (Dr.) Olatunde Oladokun, Chairman of SEAP Holdings, inspired the youth to pursue entrepreneurial dreams aligned with God’s purpose, while Evang. Dr. Omolewa Ahmed delivered a message on faith and trusting in God’s perfect timing.
The convention also featured medical outreach, entrepreneurship talks, prayers, and spiritual impartation, with participants urged to remain steadfast in their faith and collaborate for the advancement of the Gospel in Kwara State. (vitalnewsngr.com)
