The Nigerian Army has appointed Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anaele as its first female spokesperson.
Anaele was named the acting Director of Army Public Relations for the Nigerian Army on Wednesday in Abuja
Anaele, a member of the Nugeria Institute of Public Relations is expected to officially take over from the current spokesperson, Major-General Onyema Nwachukwu, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
Her appointment marks a major milestone for the Army which has been in existence for 50 years.
