The Kogi State Hajj Commission says it has rounded off the series of enlightenment programmes organised for the 721 pilgrims from the state.
The state Amirul Hajj, Mallam Zakariyahu Aliyu Abubakar (Zaak) stated this while giving updates on this year’s hajj activities.
According to him, the enlightenment programme which featured series of lectures is being rounded off ahead of the pilgrims outing, first to Mina on Sunday night 7th Dhul-Hijjah/25th June, and thereafter, to Arafat on Monday night 8th Dhul-Hijjah/26th June.
“On Tuesday, 9th Dhul-Hijjah /27th June at the sunset of the same day, the pilgrims will proceed to Muzdalifa where they are to pass a night except the elderly and sick who are allowed to spend some few hours and then moved to Mina where they will be led by guides to first stone throw at Jamrat Al-Aqabah.
“After this, they return to Mina and continue with other activities leading to the coming out from the ihram, the spiritually worn attires for the performance of Hajj,” the Amirul Hajj explained.
He said the enlightenment was organised to refresh the knowledge of the pilgrims in the activities involved in the performance of Hajj.
Abubakar said that all pilgrims are good spirit and eagerly waiting to join millions of other muslims from other part of the world to perform this last crucial stage of hajj exercise.
