Abuja – The National President, Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship International, Nigeria, Mr Ifeanyi Odedo, has commended the Federal Government’s efforts in fighting insecurity and working to bring about socio-economic stability in the country.

Odedo spoke during the fellowship’s pre-convention media briefing in Abuja on Thursday.

He said that government should continue its push to ensure peace and stability in the country.

“No stone should be left unturned to ensure that we bring a permanent solution to the problems of insecurity confronting this nation and the economic hardship that Nigerians are facing today.

“We also convey our deepest sympathies to victims of kidnappings and insurgency across the nation.

“We express our condolences to people affected by the ravaging flood in the nation,” Odedo added.

He urged government at all levels to do eveything necessary to mitigate the hardship that victims of the flood are facing and check future occurrence.

“As the nation prepares for the polls, we under score the critical role of election as a mechanism for leadership recruitment.

“A nation rises or falls on the quality of its leadership,” he added, and urged Nigerians not to vote for mediocre and expect first class performance.

“We urge Nigerians to ensure that we vote in the right calibre of people at the coming elections.

“We exhort our members and Nigerians to ensure that they exercise their franchise by voting during the elections.

“As we pray for the help of God in all our nation building efforts, we appeal to the government and election umpires to put all the necessary tools in motion to ensure free, fair and credible elections,” the fellowship president said.

According to him, Nigerians have been concerned and sensitised to get it right at the polls during the 2023 General Elections.

He therefore cautioned the electorate to shun money politics and vote buying.

On the forthcoming convention of the fellowship slated for Nov. 10 to Nov. 12, he said it would focus on praying for peace and progress of the country.

He explained that the theme, “Thou Art My Battle Axe”, was selected to highlight that God uses human beings, especially those who believe in Him, to institute His agenda on earth and bring about national development.

“Our focus in this convention is to uphold our nation in prayers at a time we are grappling with insecurity and economic downturn.

“We will also harness the patriotic support of our nationals to partner with the government towards successful elections.

“We will work to advance the cause of national growth through promotion of investments and the national image,” he said.

Odedo explained that the programme of the convention would include rallies, teachings, business roundtables and professional seminars.

The president said that the fellowship has been in existence for 66 years and has begun preparations to mark its 70th anniversary in 2026.

On the fellowship, Odedo said it was a non denominational global network of Christian businessmen and women.

“Members are trained and equipped to emulate the virtues of Christ and to reflect Godly-ethics in our businesses and careers,” he added. (NAN/vitalnewsngr.com)
