Abuja – The Vicar of St Philip’s Anglican Church, Gwarinpa, Abuja, Venerable Ovie Ezimeruwe, has urged Christians to give thanks to God in all situations.
The cleric made the call at the church’s annual general harvest thanksgiving service on Sunday.
He said that Christians should always give thanks even when they experience challenges, adding that such situations are temporary phases in life.
“Never allow your situation prevent you from thanksgiving, where you are is just a passing phase; thanksgiving provokes the appearance of God,” he said.
The cleric said that Christians should also not succumb to the ploys of the devil by grumbling on what they had not achieved in life.
”God allows his children to go through certain situations to know their hearts and build them for future blessings.
”Through thanksgiving, God forgives iniquities by showing His mercy while also delivering his children from destructions.
“Thanksgiving is very crucial to life, because if we do not learn how to thank God, we cannot get the best from God.
” When we thank God, He gives us more of His blessings and gives us the best,” Ezimeruwe added.
He said that Christians should learn from the parable of the ten lepers that were healed but only one came back to thank God, and was rewarded with greater blessings from God.
“We must, therefore, learn to appreciate God, for more of His blessings, more of His grace upon our lives, ” he added. (NAN/vitalnewsngr.com)
