Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The announcement was made on Wednesday at the executive chamber of the Bayelsa State Government House.
Diri did not reveal which party he plans to join.
The resignation received support from 23 members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, signaling strong local backing for the governor’s move.
Diri’s decision comes just a day after Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah left the PDP for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
