The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kogi State owned Graphic Newspaper, Comrade Yusuf Jimoh Itopa has appealed to members of the State Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) to cast their votes for him as the group prepares to conduct elections to fill its vacant executive positions..
Comrade Itopa who is a former Chief Press Secretary to a former Deputy Governor of Kogi State made the appeal in a statement circulated among journalists in Lokoja on Wednesday.
Itopa called on members to reposed confidence in him because as one of the pioneer members of ANA he has over the years familiarize himself with the entire gamut of the fibre that ANA is, the quality and qualification that he believed had armed and could help him to turn the Association around for the good of its members and the people of Kogi State , especially the literate, writing and reading Community
Itopa, a Poet, Journalist, Media Administrator and a Graduate of Theatre Art from University of Ibadan, promised that if he was voted as Chairman of the Association, he would hoist and fly the flag of a collective, transparent, accountable and a rigorous intellectual leadership, saying he believed that a lonely tree, no matter how huge, lush and imperial – it proclaims itself to be – can never make a forest.
The election is scheduled to hold on Friday, 30th of May, 2025 at the premises of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lokoja.
