Lagos – The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has said that all important documents and records were intact and no life was lost to a fire incident at its Lagos head office in the morning of Wednesday
The council’s, Acting Head, Public Affairs, Mrs Moyosola Adesina, in a statement said there was no cause for alarm as the fire was swiftly put under control by a combined team of firefighters.
A source who would not want his name in print said that members of the management also embarked on inspection tour of the affected areas.
The office located at Yaba, Lagos was was cordoned off and the fire incident curtailed before and major damage could be done.
A News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent who visited the scene around 11.00a.m. after the fire was put out, reports that entry into the building was restricted to visitors, except for express permission given to few.
It was learnt that the fire started on the second floor, but details of its cause still remained sketchy.(NAN/vitalnewsngr.com)
