The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) president, Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel has hailed the president of the Nigeria School Sport Federation (NSSF), Mrs Olabisi Temitope Joseph, on her emergence as the new President of International Schools Sports Federation ( ISF) – African School Sports.

The election took place on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, during the 2026 ISF General Assembly held in Belgrade, Serbia.
Gumel described the victory as most deserving as she had all along worked hard for this.
Not less than 82 countries attended the General Assembly with 79 votes cast from across the globe.
With this election, Mrs Olabisi Temitope Joseph became the first female in Africa and the first in the history of the International School Sport Federation (ISF) to attain this prestigious continental position.
“This historic achievement is an indication of Nigeria’s growing leadership and influence in school sports development across Africa and the world.
“On behalf of the Olympic Movement in Nigeria, I congratulate her for the deserving success at the polls.
“We congratulate her and wish her a memorable tenure, ” Gumel said.
