The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted a National Campaign Council and other sub-committees to handle its campaign ahead of the Osun State governorship election slated for August 15, 2026.
The party disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka,.
Morka said the council would coordinate efforts aimed at securing victory for the APC in the forthcoming governorship contest.
According to the statement, the National Campaign Council will be chaired by the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma.
Other top-ranking officials appointed as co-chairmen include the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni; President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio; and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.
The party also named the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, as Deputy Chairman of the council, while Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, will serve as Secretary.
The APC said the campaign council comprises governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state lawmakers, as well as other party leaders and stakeholders from across the country.
To strengthen campaign operations, the party also established specialised sub-committees covering election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots engagement and mobilisation, logistics and campaign management, monitoring and compliance, protocol, media and publicity, security, youth mobilisation, women’s mobilisation, mobilisation of persons with disabilities, and secretariat functions.
The APC further announced that the National Campaign Council and its sub-committees will be formally inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja.
The party expressed confidence that the campaign structure would ensure effective coordination of its activities and enhance its chances of retaining Osun State in the forthcoming governorship election.
