Yoruba nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a Igboho Oosa has been released from prison by the government of Republic of Benin.
A lawyer to the activist, Chief Yomi Alliyu , SAN, confirmed Igboho’s release in Ibadan on Monday.
” Igboho was released to his medical practitioners under the agreement that he should neither leave the medical centre nor Cotonou for any reason,” he said.
Aliyu said praises should be given to two prominent Yoruba personalities, Prof Wole Soyinka and Prof Akintoye for this “turn around in our client’s matter.”
Igboho was arrested by authorities of Republic of Benin on July 20, 2021 while on his way to Germany alongside his wife.
His wife who was also arrested was released few days later.
Also in a statement by the Communications Secretary to Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, Mr. Maxwell Adeleye Akintoye confirmed the release of Igboho.
He described the release of Ighoho as a triumph of Truth over Darkness in Yoruba Land.
He stated that Igboho was released to Yoruba Leader, Banji Akintoye and French Language Expert, Wale Adeniran by the Benin Republic Government. (vitalnews)
