Ilorin – Some Leading stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said in Ilorin on Saturday, that the country, more than ever before, needs a man like Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the next Nigeria’s President from 2023.
They compared him to political sages in other times associated with liberating their countries in dire times.
Leading other speakers at the inauguration of the North Central Agenda for Asiwaju/Shetima (NCAA) were the Kwara State governor, Mall. Abdulrahaman Abdulrazak, Sen Dayo Adeyeye, national chairman, South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, national convener, SWAGA, and Hon Ayo Omidiran, the South West group’s national women leader.
According to the governor who was represented by Hon Raji Rasak, Commissioner for Health in the state, the party in the state will work for Tinubu the same way it worked for President Mohammadu Buhari.
“It’s not about money. It is about our commitment,” he said.
Adeyeye in his speech said that Asiwaju has been preparing for the task of delivering the country long before now.
“Nigeria needs Tinubu now because he did not start preparing to be president yesterday.
“It has been his plans for a very long time and he knows exactly what to do.
“I can assure you that banditry and other social and economic menace would be a thing of the past as soon as Tinubu wins and assumes power,” he said.
In his own speech at the inauguration, Ojo, went down history lane , saying that countries at different times of difficulty have called upon unique leaders to save them.
“In the US, it was Roosevelt who was physically challenged and who led Americans through World War Two,” Ojo said.
NCAA was set up by collaborations from SWAGA as campaign office for the candidature of Asiwaju/Shetima mandate.
The office, a massive two storey complex along Umaru Audi road, GRA, Ilorin, is expected to be a beehive of political activities in the next five months before the general election and beyond.
