Kogi – The Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC) for Kogi State, Mrs Mofoluwaso Adebimpe Williams has advised youth corps members to shun “get rich mania” syndrome and drugs to attain stardom and get national honours
She gave the charge during the 2021 Batch “A” Stream 1 corps members passing out ceremony at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja on Thursday.
William-Mofoluwaso pointed out that all forms of social vices, especially the “get-rich-mania” had landed so many people in prisons, with many people losing their lives.
“Therefore, as dedicated corps menbers, who have successfully served your country, you should instead be diligent, prudent and hard working to push yourselves up to stardom and national honours.
“This you must do by first putting your trust in God, who shall surely bless your worthy efforts with success as you go out there to experience the true life of a patrotic citizen.
“I admonish you to put to good use, the various skills that you have been imparted with, through the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme which is a gateway to self employment and financial freedom to build yourselves up and the economy of the nation.
“On behalf of the NYSC Director- General, Maj.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, management and staff of the scheme, I felicitate you on the successful completion of the national service today,” she said.
She said that the one year period of service would have exposed them to the core values of the NYSC scheme, anchored on patriotism, integrity, efficiency, commitment and teamwork, vital ingredients necessary for the unity and socio-economic development of the country.
