The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, has approved N542.416m for the payment of First School leaving Certificate, Basic Six and Common Entrance Examinations, JAMB and for Basic Education Certificate (BACE) 2025.
The Payment for the Basic Certificate Examination covers 25,100 pupil in public schools amounting to the sum of N145m.
The state Commissioner For Education, Hon Wemi Jones, announced this in Lokoja on Tuesday
Similarly, the payment for BECE examination is for 30,500 students who are to write JSS3 examination across 21 LGAs of the State is put at N215m.
Also, the payment of JAMB fee covers 18,734 students in SS3 classes at the cost of N181,719m.
The Commissioner said the State Government gesture is in line with the tenet of the Kogi State free examination policy for students and pupils.
Jones further disclosed that the large chunk of N661m for payment of WAEC has been released to the Ministry.
He pointed out that the process of profiling to ensure that only deserving students benefit is on going across public institutions in the State before WAEC closes. (vitalnewsngr.com)
