Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has sacked two of his appointees over their involvement in securing controversial bail for a suspected drug baron and the diversion of palliative grains.

The Secretary to theState Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim announced their dismissal in a statement on Saturday.

Their removal from office with immediate effect was a fallout of their indictments by two separate investigative panels set up by government to probe them.

Abubakar Umar Sharada, Senior Special Assistant on Political Mobilisation, to the governor was sacked after a Special Investigative Committee found him to be the “mastermind” behind securing bail for Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu, a suspected dangerous drug baron.

“The committee confirmed Sharada’s culpability through his own testimony, which established his direct involvement in the bail process,” the SSG revealed.

Recall that the Kano State Commissioner for Transportation, Alhaji Ibrahim Ali Namadi resigned from his position three days ago over the controversial bail granted the suspected drug baron.

Namadi resigned few hours after Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf received the report of the investigative committee probing his involvement in the controversial bail of the suspected drug baron, Sulaiman Amin Danwawu.

On the other hand, Tasiu Adamu Al’amin Roba, Senior Special Assistant in the Cabinet Office, was also dismissed for allegedly re-bagging palliative grains in 2024 at a Sharada warehouse.

“Roba has been arraigned in court and faces charges of theft and criminal conspiracy for diverting public assets,” Ibrahim said.

He added that both men must return government property by Monday, August 11, 2025, and desist from parading themselves as public officials.

However, the panel exonerated Hon. Musa Ado Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainages, after an investigative committee cleared him of all allegations.

Governor Yusuf warned all appointees that the administration’s fight against corruption was not negotiable.

“Our commitment to discipline, transparency, and zero tolerance for corruption is unwavering. Public officials must uphold the highest standards of integrity both in their official duties and private lives,” he said.

The statement also warned members of the public against dealing with the sacked aides on any matter concerning the state government.

“Whoever engages them on government issues does so at his or her own risk,” the SSG cautioned. (vitalnewsngr.com)
