The Federal Government and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)’s Assisted Value Chain Development Programme VCDP (Additional Financing) has commenced moves to strengthen personal hygiene practices among people with special needs.

This is being done in collaboration with the Taraba State government through the Ministry of Social Justice, Ministry of Social Development and Human Services, and the Department of Public Health, Taraba State University.

Speaking during the life-skills training workshop on Saturday in Jalingo, Taraba state commissioner for Social Justice, Dr. Felister Irarimam, and that of Social Development and Human Services Hon. Shonzen J. Bernard, informed that the initiative was to encourage personal hygiene and other health related issues among persons with special needs.

According to the duo, the idea was also aimed at improving their knowledge and practices on personal hygiene.
