he Federal Government has finally returned the jurisdiction of Ette Community to Kogi State.
This is decision is in line with a judgment of the Supreme Court which had earlier ruled that Ette Community belonged to Kogi State and not Enugu State.
Consequently, the National Boundary Commission (NBC), has officially placed Ette Community within Kogi State.

The Federal Government has also instructed the Kogi State Government to immediately assume full responsibility for the security and administration of the community.
The NBC also issued a directive ordering the Enugu State Government to immediately hands off administration over Ette Community and suspend all planned activities in the area, including a chieftaincy coronation scheduled for the end of December.
This directive has been accepted by Enugu officials, who have pledged to adhere to the federal commission’s decision, bringing a peaceful close to the longstanding boundary dispute between Kogi and Enugu States.
