A delegation from the British Embassy led by Mr. Andrew Marshall, has called for synergy in combating security threats, including intelligence gathering to track criminal activities effectively.

Marshall alongside Tope Aroso and Stanley Adeyemo made the suggestion on Monday in Lokoja during a visit to the Kogi State Commissioner of police, Miller Dantawaye.

The visit aimed to explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration between the British Embassy and the Kogi State Police Command in tackling security challenges.

Spokesman of the state police command, SP William Aya said the British delegation used the opportunity of the meeting to discussed their operational approach, particularly in intelligence-led operations and counter-kidnapping strategies.

Responding, Dantawaye
assured the delegation of the command’s commitment to strengthening security measures.

He acknowledged the importance of international cooperation and pledged to intensify efforts, including robust stop-and-search operations and strategic intelligence sharing.

CP Dantawaye, who recently assumed office, highlighted the significance of collaboration with foreign partners, given their advanced security capabilities and resources.

He further stated that any British team visiting Kogi State should notify his office to ensure adequate security coverage.

He also encouraged the British Embassy to share any intelligence on criminal activities, even when not actively engaged in field operations, to facilitate swift and effective responses by the Law Enforcement Agents.

The visit marks a step towards reinforcing Security Partnerships and improving crime-fighting strategies in Kogi State.
