The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Dekina Local Government, Kogi State, Alhaji Yunusa Onu, has been shit dead by yet to be identified gunmen.
One was shot dead on Thursday on Anyigba–Itobe road while returning from a trip to Lokoja, the state capital.
Sources said was shot by the gunmen while to escape into a nearby bush.
He attempted to escape so as to avoid suspected kidnappers who has blocked the road.
The attackers were said to have fled the scene immediately.
Police have not yet issued an official statement; an investigation is underway. More details to follow.
