The International Studies Alumni Association, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has expressed its profound grief over the death of former Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, late Solomon Arase.
The group expressed the grief in a statement issued on Monday by Alhaji Abdullahi Shuaibu, National PRO, International Studies Alumni Association,
Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
The association also extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of Arase who died at the age of 69 years in a private hospital in Abuja on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
“Our association shares in the sorrow of the Arase family during this difficult time.
“Mr. Solomon Arase, was a distinguished alumnus of our great university, ABU Zaria and a product of the Department of Political Science and International Studies.
“His remarkable career in law enforcement and public service is a testament to the strong foundation, upbringing and values learned at ABU,” the Association President, Ambassador Muntari Kaita stated.
The statement quoted Ambassador Kaita as saying: “The International Studies Alumni Association stands with the late Arase family in mourning this loss.
“We pray that God grants the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and that Solomon Arase soul rests in eternal peace,” he noted.
Born on June 21, 1956, in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, Arase studied Political Science at Ahmadu Bello University, graduating in 1980, and joined the Nigeria Police Force on December 1, 1981.
