APC Candidate For 2027 State Assembly Election In Ogori-Magongo LG, Bode Ogunmola Withdraws Voluntarily From Race

The candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ogori-Magongo state house of assembly election in 2027, Hon. Bode Ogunmola has voluntarily withdrawn from the race.

Ogunmola indicated his decision to voluntarily withdraw his candidature from the election through a letter dated June 4, 2026 and personally signed by him.

“After deep reflection, consultations with my family, and elders of my community, I have concluded that withdrawing as the candidate at this time is in the best interest of the party, and my constituency,” Ogunmola said in the letter.

A copy of the letter obtained by Vital News on Saturday, June 6, 2026, showed that it was addressed to the Kogi State Chairman of APC through the Chairman of APC in Ogori/Magongo Local Government, Ogori, Kogi State and Ward Chairman, of APC, Aiyeromi Ward, Ogori/Magongo Local Government Council.

Copies of the letter were also sent to the National Chairman of APC, in Abuja.

The full text of Ogunmola’s letter titled “VOLUNTARY WITHDRAWAL AS APC CANDIDATE FOR OGORI/MAGONGO STATE CONSTITUENCY reads thus :
“I, Hon. (Prince) Bode Ogunmola, hereby formally notify the All Progressives Congress, APC, Kogi State Chapter, and all relevant authorities of my voluntary decision to withdraw as the party’s candidate for Ogori/Magongo State Constituency in the forthcoming Kogi State House of Assembly election.

“This decision was not taken lightly.

“After deep reflection, consultations with my family, and elders of my community, I have concluded that withdrawing as the candidate at this time is in the best interest of the party, and my constituency.

“Let me state unequivocally that I remain committed to the ideals and vision of the All Progressives Congress and I will remain a loyal party man and will work for the success of the party in all elections.

“For the records, I will continue to support the party and work for its victory in Ogori/Magongo, Kogi State and the nation at large.

“I am grateful to the party leadership, stakeholders and members for their support during the primaries.

“Please accept the assurances of my highest esteem and continued loyalty to the party.

“Yours faithfully,

HON. (PRINCE) BODE OGUNMOLA
APC Candidate, Ogori/Magongo State Constituency.”

Ogunmola who was a former Commissioner in the state currently represents Ogori-Magongo Local Government in the state house of assembly.
