Nigeria Olympic Committee Athlete Commission To Propose Health Insurance Schemes To FG

Abuja – The Nigeria Olympic Committee Athlete Commission (NOCAC) has mandated its leadership to as a matter of urgency propose a suitable health insurance schemes to the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.

It stated that the proposed insurance scheme should emphasis on the importance of such policy on national athletes

The organisation took the decision at its Athletes Forum which was held on Wednesday in Abuja.

Niyi Busari, Media Consultant, Nigeria Olympians Association said the decisions were contained in a
five-paragraph communique issued at the end of the Forum held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

He said the Forum also demanded that the leadership should request the participation of the Athletes Commission at the forthcoming National Youth Games in making sure that the young Nigerian athletes in the area of education and advocacy.

“The Olympic Committee Athlete Commission expressed their appreciation to the Nigeria Olympic Committee for her continuous support towards the Nigeria Athletes Commission.

“It also looked forward to working on the improved relationship with the Federation and Elite Athletes Department (FEAD) of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development following their continuous presence during her activities,” Busari said. (vitalnewsngr.com)
