The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Adamawa State, Hudu Yunusa Ari from office indefinitely.
A letter of suspension dated April 17 and signed by Rose Oriaran-Anthony, tje Secretary of the commission was served on Ari on Monday.
The Administrative Secretary in the Yola office of the INEC has been asked to take over from him.
His suspension is due to his controversial decision to declare the APC candidate, Aisha Dahiru Binani winner of the April 14 supplementary governorship election when the election was still ongoing.

I hereby convey the Commission’s decision that you (Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari), Resident Electoral Commissioner, Adamawa State should stay away from the Commission’s office in Adamawa State immediately until further notice.
