Oyo – Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the appointment of Ex-International, Dimeji Lawal as the Acting General Manager of 3SC Football Club of Ibadan.
Lawal’s appointment follows the death of Mr Rasheed Balogun, the former General Manager of the club.
Reacting, the former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles player, expressed surprise over the appintment, promising to give his best in the new position.
“We thank God, because this same responsibility I was offered eight years ago, which I rejected because I felt I was not prepared for such job then.
“May the soul of my boss (Rasheed Balogun) rest in perfect peace. I served him wholeheartedly, I gave him my all and I learn a lot along the line and now that our amiable governor felt I should take the responsibility, I think, I am more than prepared for it.
Lawal, was one of the few players with the rare privilege of featuring for all the three main national teams in the country; U-17, U-20 and the Super Eagles
In another development, the club has unveiled three new players ; Sunday Faleye, Niyi Adekunle and Akleche Sunday.
The Oluyole Warriors acquired the services of the players to beef up its performance in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League Season.
While Sunday Faleye came on loan from Czech Republic side Dukla Prague, the duo of Niyi Adekunle and Akleche Sunday joined from Katsina United.
