12 Electric Cable Vandals Arrested In Ekiti

Police in Ekiti State have arrested 12 persons in connection with vandalism and theft of electric cables in different parts of the state.

Spokesman of the state police command, DSP Sunday Abutu, confirmed the arrest of the suspects in a statement.

Abutu said the suspects were arrested in their hideouts within and outside Ado Ekiti by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in collaboration with local vigilantes.

He said the suspects confessed to the crimes during investigations.

According to him, items recovered from the suspects include rolls of armour cables, recline cables, aluminium conductors, and electrical cables.

Also recovered from them are one transformer feeder pillar, rolls of binding wire, and generator parts.

Abutu said the arrested suspects will soon be arraigned in court.
