The All Progressives Congress, APC, National Director of Administration, Dr. Sulaiman Abubakar, has been conferred with an honorary doctorate degree in Public Administration by the European America University, Abuja.
At a special convocation held on Tuesday, Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Josephine Chinjioma Egbuta, extolled the humanitarian qualities of Dr. Sulaiman, which she said stood him out for the honorary degree.
She said: “The honorary doctorate degree is the university’s initiative to reward African ambassadors who have conquered the world due to the quality, important and continuous contributions to humanity and academics.
“Dr. Abubakar Sulaiman was chosen on the basis of his distinguished reputations, outstanding achievements, exemplary leadership and extraordinary contributions to humanity and academics.”
In his remarks, the APC Director of Admin expressed gratitude to the authorities of the university for the honour done to him.
He said, “I want to lay on record my gratitude to the authority of European America University for the honor bestowed on me this afternoon. I appreciate this honor for several reasons. I believe that it is coming genuinely from your heart based on your evaluation of my achievements. I want to thank you, may God honor you the way you have honored me today.
“But let me also congratulate you even more importantly for what you have accomplished with this university.
In is own Goodwill message, Mr Constant Lakpini, the Deputy Registrar, Federal University, Lokoja, who led other friends of Dr. Sulaiman to Abuja to solidarize with him said, “this award again is a testimony to your remarkable performance as the APC Director of Admin. We are proud to associate with you.
“I congratulate you. This award and many others in the past are a pointer to your avowed commitment to excellent service delivery and your philanthropic gestures.”
“Abu Khalil, as you are fondly called, we Lokojans are proud to be co drivers with you in the voyage of your service delivery and poverty alleviation programmes,” Lakpini stressed.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the investiture of Dr. Abubakar Sulaiman with the donning of the academic regalia along with the presentation of certificate of the Doctorate Degree in
Public Administration (honoris causa) by the European America University.
