Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has apologized over his August 5, 2025 unruly behaviour at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The musician in a statement on Friday tendered the apology to the federal government and other aviation stakeholders.
The musician described the incident as unfortunate, saying it was not his intention to disobey aviation protocols.
He, however, denied being found with alcohol at the airport.
Wasiu Ayinde said the flask he was carrying contained water, not alcohol.
He was carrying water based on his doctor’s advised to remain constantly hydrated to avoid chronic dehydration.
According to him, the flask was empty during the security checks and was only filled with water at the airport lounge shortly before boarding.
He stressed that he had not boarded the aircraft, let alone been deboarded, and said available CCTV footage could confirm his account.
“I acknowledge and deeply regret the concerns that arose from the incident.
“It was never my intention to cause any disruption or violate aviation protocols,” the statement reads.
The artist apologized to the Presidency, the Ministry of Aviation, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), ValueJet, and Nigerians in general.
He then reaffirmed his patriotism and commitment to protecting the reputation he has built over five decades in the Nigerian music industry, while thanking his fans for their support.
