Family members, friends, colleagues and relations on Monday turned up in their large number for a Holy Communion Memorial Service in honour of the late Architect Lolo Ngozi Alassan who died ten years ago.
The memorial service was held at the Chapel of Peace, Bishop’s Court, Lokoja, Kogi State.
Speaking, the Bishop of Lokoja Diocese, Emmanuel Egbunu extoled the virtues of the Late Architect Alassan, describing her,as a tool in the hands of God Himself.
Egbunu expressed that Mrs Alassan is resting in the bosom of the Lord where rooms are being prepared for those who are prepared to make heaven.
He admonished her husband, children, friends, relations and colleagues not to grieve any more “because their loved one is already resting in peace with the Lord.”
Until her death, Late Architect,Lolo Ngozi Alassan was a very active person in the service of the Lord.
As a matter of fact,she died as a Martyr in the course of the service.
Meanwhile, the family has established a foundation, The Lily Foundation to assist those who have the passion for the spread of the Gospel.
The target for this Foundation is N10million, which includes monthly Clergy support of #50,000, Lily Memorial Annual Award – to honour outstanding Clergy members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the service, emergency aid program designed to assist Clergy members facing unexpected challenges and finally capacity building workshops.
For effective disbursement of the funds, His Grace, Bishop Emmanuel Egbunu,the Anglican Bishop of Lokoja Diocese ,is the head of the Council of The Lily Foundation while the husband of the late Architect Alassan, Architect Joe Alassan, will join others to be appointed later to serve as a member.
It will be recalled that late Architect (Mrs).Lolo Ngozi Alassan,met her untimely death ten years a go while on her way for a Christian outreach programme to Gboloko, Bassa Local Government in Kogi State ten years ago.
