Prominent Nigerian businessman and billionare philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata is dead.
Aged 94 years, Alhaji Aminu Dantata passed on at about 3am of Saturday, June 28, 2025 in Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Aminu Dantata who was born on May 19, 1931 was known for founding Express Petroleum & Gas Company Ltd and his role in establishing Jaiz Bank.
He also served as the Kano State Commissioner for Economic Development, Trade, and Industry from 1968 to 1973.
Aminu Dantata was a member of the Dantata family, a well-known Kano business dynasty.
His father, Alhassan Dantata, was a renowned merchant and one of the wealthiest men in Nigeria during his time.
The late Alhaji Aminu Dantata will be buried today in Kano according to Islamic rites.
