PEEMADI Promises To Help CUSTEC Develop Manpower, Share Technical Knowledge

The Managing Director of Power Equipment and Electrical Machine Development Institute, PEEMADI, Okene, Kogi State,Engr. Yakubu Adaaja has promised to collaborate with the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, to develop its manpower needs and sharing of technical knowledge.

Adaaja made the promise on Thursday when he led a delegation of PEEMADI management on a visit to the university in Osara.

PEEMADI, an Institute of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) visited the university to collaborate with it in the area of enhancing the technical capacity of its staff and students.

In his speech, the Vice chancellor, Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu thanked the Institute for the prompt response to the call for collaboration in matters of research and enhancement of knowledge of staff and students.

He said the collaboration will assist CUSTECH to fulfill its mandate of raising global students capable of solving society’s problems and industry demands.

Prof. Salawu said six programmes of the university are ready for COREN and NUC accreditation with an assurance that the Faculty of Engineering with eleven programmes is positioned to be the largest Faculty of Engineering in Nigeria.

He thanked the former Governor, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello and the incumbent, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo for the foresight and political will to set aside all needed equipment to ensure a successful accreditation of all the programmes of the university.

The event was witnessed by principal officers of the university, including the Director of Academic Planning, Pharm. Muhammed Audu Asuku and the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Engr.Prof.MT Isah. (vitalnewsngr.com)
