PDP raises 11-member Committee to screen, pick Vice Presidential Candidate

.. Ikimi heads the committee while Wada, Tapgun, Ladoja, others are members

Abuja – The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) has set up an 11- member committee to screen persons nominated as Vice Presidential Candidate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, its Presidential Candidate in the 2023 election.

The party in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday said the committee was set up in Pursuant to the PDP’s Electoral Guidelines PART VI Paragraph 14.

It said that the “Vice Presidential Candidate Screening Committee is for the purpose of the screening/verifying the nominated Vice Presidential Candidate of our Party.”

vitalnewsngr.com reports that Hon. Umar M. Bature, the National Organizing Secretary of the party signed the statement.

However, PDP, in the statement did not reveal the identity of the person/persons nominated as its Vice Presidential Candidate.

It said the screening of the Vice Presidential candidate will hold at Abuja on Thursday, June 16 as from 10am prompt.

Venue is the National Working Committee (NWC) Hall, Wadata Plaza headquarters of the PDP at Abuja.

Party Stakeholders selected to serve on the screening committee are ; High Chief Tom Ikimi who is the Chairman while former governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris I. Wada, Chief Osita Chidoka , Rt. Hon. Binta Bello, Chief (Mrs) Alh. Mutiat Adedoja, Rt. Hon. Austin Opara and Prof Aisha Madawaki are members.

Others to serve as members of the committee are Mrs Ayotunde George-Ologun, Chief Mrs Chidiebelu Mofus and Chief Fidelis Tapgun while
Dr Akilu Indabawa will serve as its Secretary

Mr Sunday Omobo us also appointed to serve as the Administrative Secretary of the committee. (vitalnewsngr.com)
