Abuja – The Executive Secretary of Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) , Rev. Yakubu Pam has advised youths in the country to utilize government empowerment schemes to develop themselves and contribute to national development.

Pam gave the advice when he received the Christian Youths of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN) in 19 Northern states and Abuja, and the Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), on Wednesday in Abuja.

“The greatest knowledge you will have is the one you discover by yourself,” he added.

Pam admonished them to always do the right thing and not be discouraged when their voices were not heard.

“Be focused, so many distractions may come, but be focused, the greatest weapon against distractions is to be focused,” he advised the delegation.

He also advised them to desist from unlawful activities, including blackmail, banditry, cyber crime and other vices.

The NCPC boss said the youths should aspire to be leaders and have the zeal for hard work.

He urged them to emulate their national bodies who had planned pilgrims and empowerment trips to Israel, with focus on agriculture, to build themselves and the country economically.

“You can also plan to be self sponsored pilgrims, with the church and your groups contributing, just as your national bodies have planned.

“You will get various trainings and empowerment in countries like Israel who are advanced in agriculture, and it would be of great benefit to the country,” he said.

Earlier, the Chairman, CPFN, Pastor George Oaya said the visit was to identify with the executive secretary and present a “Distinguish Leadership Award” to him.

Oaya said it was on record that the commission boss had been on the forefront of canvassing and advancing the cause of peace and unity in Plateau and the nation.

“Your usual campaign for peace and peaceful coexistence among the two faiths has contributed immensely to the reduction of security crises in northern Nigeria,” he said.

Similarly, Amb. Ekiye Ekiye, Leader of the 19 Northern and Southern Youth Wing of CAN also commended the NCPC boss for his determination and integrity.

He thanked Pam for his fatherly advice and the roles he had played to encourage the youths to be focused in life.

The youth wing of CAN also presented an award of “Most Friendly Leader of the Youth” to Pam.

This, they said, followed his records of good leadership and humanitarian services.(NAN/vitalnewsngr.com)
