The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says it is reviewing the conduct and outcomes of the Saturday, August 25, 2026, governorshio election in the state before deciding its next line of action.
Spokesman of APC in the state, Kola Olabisi disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Osogbo.
Olabisi, said this has become necessary following the declaration of Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party as winner of the poll.
He said the party was reviewing the results before deciding on its next course of action, saying that the electoral process did not end with the declaration of a winner.
The Spokesman said after the review of the results of governorship election from all the 332 wards in the state, the party may seek legal redress after consulting its lawyers.
According to him, the law provides avenues for aggrieved parties to challenge election outcomes through the election tribunal, Court of Appeal and, ultimately, the Supreme Court.
“An election cannot be said to have been concluded without having explored all these constitutionally allowed legal opportunities,” Olabisi said.
He said the APC, as a party committed to the rule of law, fairness and justice, would explore the available legal options after consultations with its legal team and consideration of their professional advice.
The party also commended its members and supporters for what it described as their steadfastness, loyalty and contributions to its political activities across the state.
Olabisi urged APC members and supporters to remain calm and refrain from responding to what he described as provocative actions by members of the ruling party.
He further appealed to the Nigeria Police Force to protect APC members and supporters who, he alleged, were being molested by opposition members.
The spokesperson assured party members that the APC would continue to pursue its cause within the ambit of the law, describing the current political situation in the state as “a passing phase.”
