The Offa Doctors Forum has committed to scaling up healthcare interventions in Offa and enhancing support for its members as part of its agenda for 2025.
This was revealed by the Forum’s President, Dr. Rasheed Odunola, in a communiqué issued on Sunday during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association.
Highlighting the Forum’s achievements, Dr. Odunola expressed the association’s resolve to strengthen its impact through community-focused initiatives and collaborations.
He said : “The previous year has been impactful with progress and collaboration.
“We are determined to further establish the Forum as a force for positive change in Offa and beyond.”
As part of its healthcare improvement plans, the Forum announced the renovation of a health center in Offa.
“This project will enhance healthcare infrastructure and ensure better access to quality care for our community,” Dr Odunola stated.
The Forum also unveiled a scholarship scheme for indigent medical students of Offa origin.
“A sum of 100,000 naira will be awarded to deserving 200-level medical students from Offa who are indigent.
“This initiative underscores our commitment to education and empowerment,” he added.
In addition, the Forum plans to collaborate with the Offa Descendants Union of North America (ODUNA) on its 2025 activities and mobilize doctors for the program.
Dr. Odunola emphasized the Forum’s commitment to enhancing members’ welfare, expanding its membership database by 75 per cent, and improving compliance with dues payments to support more projects.
“Our focus is to build a stronger community of professionals dedicated to providing better healthcare and support for our people,” he said.
