The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has expelled 3SC Football Club of Ibadan from this year’s President Federation Cup.
The club was expelled for fielding ‘ineligible’ players.
A letter conveying the NFF’s decision was delivered to the management of the club Wednesday afternoon.
The letter came shortly after 3SC walked over Zamfara United in a Round of 64 fixture in Abuja.
Tosin Omojola, Media Officer, 3SC, confirmed the development.
He said internal and external investigations have commenced to ascertain the allegation against club.
Omojola assured the teeming supporters and fans of the club that steps are being taking to address the matter.
“While this is ongoing, we hereby appeal for calm and patience, knowing fully the tension the issue has generated, with a promise to make an official statement immediately our findings are concluded,” he said.
