Benue state Governor-elect, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has constituted 12 sub-committees under the main Transition Committee organising his inauguration on May 29.
The Sub- committees are to plan a worthwhile inauguration and oath taking ceremony of the Governor-elect.
The names of the members of the sub-committees was contained in a statement released on Friday in Anuja.
The statement was jointly signed by Chief Mike Iordye and Dan Ashiekaa, Chairman and Secretary of the Transition Committee respectively.
Alia has urged the Sub-committees to meet as soon as possible and draw up their budgets for submission to the Secretariat for consideration and approval, as time is of the essence.
The Director of Communication to the Governor-elect, Sir Tersoo Kulas, said the various sub-committees have the mandate to organise activities that will herald the main event.
He stated that Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, Comrade Austin Agada, Chief Stephen Lawani, Dan Ashiekaa and all LG party chairmen in the state will oversee the successful operation of all the Sub-committees.
The statement added that the official inauguration of the sub-committees will come up at a later date.
The 12 committees are that of Venue, Contact, Transportation, Mobilization and Demobilization committee.
Others are Media and Publicity, Security,Logistics, Refreshment, Feeding and Protocol.
Also set up are Entertainment committee, Medicals, Accommodation,
religious committee, care of Pre /Post inauguration activities and gala nite, Secretariat, Monitoring and Evaluation committee which has the Governor-elect as a member. (vitalnewsngr.com)
