Sokoto – Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Deputy Governor of. Sokoto State, Hon.Manir Muhammed Dan Iya has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Dan Iya announced his decision to quit the PDP on Wednesday in Sokoto with effect from February 8.
In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the ward chairman of PDP in Kware, Kware Local Government Area of the state, Dan Iya did not give any reason for dumping the party.
In the letter dated February 8 and personally signed by him, Dan Iya simply said ” I write to inform you of withdrawal of my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party with effect from February 8.”
The Deputy Governor who is also the Walin of Sokoto , however, still retains his official position as the Deputy Governor of the state.
He has also not decamp to any other political party as at the time of this report.
Dan Iya’s action is coming few days to the scheduled presidential rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State. (vitalnewsngr.com)
