Lagos State government has again sealed 12 buildings and demolished two illegal fences at Banana Island.

The buildings were sealed on Thursday by the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), in collaboration with the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) and the State Taskforce.

The sealing of the buildings and demolition of the fences was a follow up to Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu’s directive that an end put to illegal development in the Island.

The 12 buildings were hitherto sealed but their owners defied the government action by removing the seal.

Commenting on the exercise, the General Manager of LASBCA, Gbolahan Owodunni Oki, said the affected structures were sealed for various contraventions ranging from building without Planning Permit Approval, failure to obtain Authorisation to Commence Construction from LASBCA and Break of Government Seal amongst others.

He stated that the ongoing removal and sealing of the buildings in Banana Island and other parts of the State is geared towards compelling compliance with extant laws. (LMOI/vitalnewsngr.com)
