Emerging young entrepreneurs in Lagos State have been charged to imbibe and demonstrate commitment as a prerequisite for them to attain greater heights in their pursuits.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Mrs Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu stated this at a ceremony for the Presentation of Start-up Tools for Young Entrepreneurs starting up a business at Alausa.

In her words:”As young entrepreneurs, you must be committed to doing all that you have been taught at the Amplifier Business Clinic where you were exposed to basic knowledge of business forecasting, product branding and personal growth development.

“You cannot do without total commitment to all these things. Commitment will get you to places beyond your dreams.”

According to Oke-Osanyintolu, the Amplifier Business Clinic which was organised by the Ministry of Youth and Social Development in conjunction with PELSE Consulting for emerging young entrepreneurs is aimed at equipping them with financial and business management skills, entrepreneurial strategies, marketing, funding opportunity and networking to help them adapt to the changing business.

“The Amplifier Business Clinic is going to be a continuous one as it gives access to adequate mentorship and coaching by professionals in different fields.

“This, I believe will help youth employment and economic growth in Lagos State.

“The State has the highest number of youth population in the country and this comes with a huge responsibility to tackle the various challenges that come with youth.

‘The present administration is therefore investing greatly in the continuous enhancement of soft skills/vocational training programmes for the youth that will harness their potentials in the fulfillment of Mr Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’sT.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda that is determined to leave no one behind,” Oke-Osanyintolu added.

On his part, Managing Partner, PELSE Consulting, Boboye Adeniji Oluwafemi disclosed that the essence of the Amplifier Business Clinic was to equip young entrepreneurs with knowledge and skills they need to succeed and also for them to know other things like Business Licence, Website, Business Plan, Process Documentation,Staff Strength, Increase in Customer Base as well as Equipment and Technology Improvement as the Key Performance Indices to guide them as young entrepreneurs.

” The support of the Ministry of Youth and Social Development in developing the youth in Lagos State is incredible that is why this programme has been possible.

“This programme is driven by integrity and transparency.Selection of participants is based on merit.

“I urge the youth to grab this opportunity they are being offered to showcase their potentials. They need commitment to succeed in business,” She said.
