Kogi State Head of Service, Dr Elijah Evinemi, has rejoiced with Christians on the occasion of this year’s celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ better kown as Christmas.
Evinemi, in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Lokoja, urged Christians to use the occasion to reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ.
“Merry Christmas to all civil servants and the good people of Kogi State.
“As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, let us remember the values of love, kindness, and generosity that this season embodies.
“As we relax and recharge with our loved ones, let us not forget the less privileged among us. Let us spread love, joy, and kindness to those around us.
“I wish you all a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Christmas celebration, ” he said.
The Head of Service also commended the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for prioritizing staff welfare.
According to him, the prompt payment of December salary allowed the civil servants to plan for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
He pledged the resolve of workers to reciprocate the governor’s good gesture by working hard to ensure the success of the government’s programmes and policies.
